Christmas Song Of The Day: "Sing Mary Sing" - Jennifer Knapp

It's December and as a devotee to all things Holiday I thought I'd roll out some of my favorite Christmas/Winter music throughout the month. Check back every day for tracks old, new, classic and unique. Happy Holidays!

A fun, folksy original from then-closeted Christian pop singer Jennifer Knapp. "Sing Mary Sing" embraces all aspects of the Blessed Virgin's relationship with her divine Son. To think of humanity and divinity wrapped in one is mind boggling for us, let alone for the one who gave birth to such an enigma. I've had a special interest in the Virgin Mary for years, I have three Madonna & Child prints in my living room as well as solid white porcelain planter of Mary with her arms outstretched.

There is something special about her story. Whether you believe that she was truly impregnated by the Holy Spirit or just pregnant outside of wedlock by more natural means, it took great courage to carry this child. She brought him into a world where he would ultimately be killed by an oppressive regime, but was there for him nearly every step of the way.
